Angry 1997 Cobra Valve Cover Gasket Replacement

I am in need of replacing the spark plug seals on the driver's side valve cover, leaking oil into plug 7. I have the valve cover seal broken from the head, but I need to know the secret for actually getting the cover off of the engine completely. I have removed the coil and bracket from the front of the block, moved the wire harness out of the way, but the valve cover cannot clear the cam and timing belt to come off. I have read about unbolting motor mounts to jack up the engine and it looks like I could remove the intake from the top of the engine, but I am reluctant to do any of these things. Is there another way or do I have to do this? Any help appreciated, thanks.

Here's what you need to do;
-Remove the air inlet tube from the throttle body and air cleaner housing.
-For the right-hand cover, do the following:
  1. Detach the engine wiring from the Mass Air Flow (MAF) and Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensors.
  2. Remove the nut that holds the A/C line to the right-hand, front fender apron, then gently lift the A/C line and feed the MAF and IAT wiring connectors under it. Position the connector out of the way.
  3. Relieve fuel system pressure, then detach the fuel lines from the engine.
  4. Remove the PCV valve from the rocker arm grommet, and position it out of the way.
-For the left-hand cover, perform the following steps:
  1. Detach the speed control actuator cable from the throttle body and position it aside.
  2. Disengage the engine control sensor extension wire connector from the electronic variable orifice sensor and oil pressure sender. Position the wiring out of the way.
-Now you can disconnect the spark plug wires from the plugs, remove the spark plug wires and wire retaining clips from the valve cover studs. Next, remove the valve cover mounting bolts and remove them. Remove all of the old gasket from the head and valve cover before installing a new one.
-To re-install, reverse the directions.

Just don't let it frustrate you, it gets worse trying to put the cover back on!!!! If you haven't put this back together yet this will help you alot, did me. Clean all the oil off the cover with some alcohol and let it dry. Take some silicone gasket maker and run a bead around the valve cover in the gasket groove. Press the new gasket in place and wipe away the excess silicone. Let it dry for a couple hours atleast, this will hold the new gasket in place while your wrestling the cover around trying to get it back on!!!! I did the same with the plug gaskets..
