I just bought a 1996 mustang cobra, im looking at flowmaster catback exhaust systems and i dont what type of muffler i want to use. i thought series 40's because they are the most common but i want a mean yet not to loud sound, but hear the mustang roar at the same time.

ok thats what i am leaning toward, im thinking about a bassani catted x-pipe with a series 40 catback system. i read the thread about h or x pipe and i think the x and the series 40's will give me the sound im looking for.

2 1/2 " (40 series delta flow) 2-chamber......agressive "street-fighter" sound, not obnocious........sweet as h&ll.

ok, i think thats the sound i want. would it be to raspy with an x-pipe with those mufflers?? and where would i get this after cat system? i haven't heard of it.

no it wont, i have an "x" pipe on my 95' cobra....the mufflers brand is "FLOWMASTER".....GO WITH ANY X-PIPE W/CATS THAT YOU CAN AFFORD AS LONG AS YOU LIKE THE CONSTRUCTION AND MATERIALS USED, YOU'LL BE HAPPY.

i use to have a 1998 cobra with xpipe no cats, with flowmaster 40 series, it sounded perfect.
