Default 1998 Cobra Catback Exhaust

Would the SLP Loud Mouth Catback exhaust part number M31007 application 99-04 Mustang GT fit on a 1998 Cobra with a stock H-pipe? SLP's website sells a different part number (M31011) exclusive to the 98 Cobra/GT. What is the difference in design? Does anyone have any experience with catbacks and a 98 Cobra/GT? It seems 98 was an oddball year for Mustang parts.

It will not fit,the Cobra and Gt are different exhaust systems.

^I think you are confused. He is asking whether an exhaust component for the 99 Cobra will work for the 98 Cobra. Not whether a GT part will work for the Cobra.

OP, Why don't you just get the two mufflers that you want and take them to an exhaust shop and have them put the mufflers on for you? It would probably be cheaper that way too. And, yes the 98's were an odd year for all Mustangs from V6 to Cobra. I despise Ford for that year. lol

I've seen certain things like that just for the 1998's, so i would stick to that. 98 and the 99 and up are different setups. like mentioned, it would be cheaper to get the mufflers and have them welded in.

Default Thanks

Thanks for all your quick feedback. I found a steal locally for a slightly used SLP Loud Mouth catback off an 03' GT for $150.00. But after websites application guides and your inputs I see it won't work for a 98' Cobra despite it's similar solid axle and platform.

Thanks!
