Question Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter for T56 (Six Speed models)

I have read that this shifter is a good improvement over the 2004 SVT Cobra's stock shifter. I have a reach problem with the stock shifter. Being 5' 8" I have to move the seat farther forward to reach 3rd and 5th gears than I would like. Does anyone out there have the Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter for T56 (Six Speed models), and do you recommend it?
Does it shift easier than the original? Also, how simple is it to self-install? What sorts of tools are needed and what kind of time frame? Thanks for your help!

Default 2003 Cobra Shifter

I installed a Steeda Short Throw on my 2003 Cobra in about 1 hour. I am happy with it and would recommend it. It takes a little more effort to shift with a cold tranny but after warm up shifts easily and feels very solid. The shorter throw is nice especially for how close the stereo/dash was to the thumb in 1st gear. The shifter installs with basic hand tools and comes with installation instructions. Heres the Steeda link:

Enjoy!

I would go with the MGW, It's the best shifter for these cars period.

I agree with the MGW. I have one in my 95 and I love it. The Tri-ax is much better than the stock shifter. Either way you will be happy. I like the MGW because it is 360 degrees adjustable.

First let me say that if I'm reading this wrong... sorry. The Steeda is a good replacement. Although I'm a bit confused about reach. The Steeda shifter will make it even futher down to shift. Even if you use the stock handle, it is still going to put you a little futher away. Sounds like your going the wrong direction if its a reach issue.
