Default Supercharged 1994 Mustang Cobra

I just recently bought a 94 Cobra. Few questions/discussions maybe to see if anyone can help? From what I know, being what the seller showed me and told me about it, both top and bottom ends redone, x303 cam, ford supercharger, windage tray. The car runs like a champ, has since the day I bought it. There are a few things i'm unable to understand though... first being, the 5.0 i believe have about a 5 quart oil pan, mine now takes a little over 7 when i change oil, seller explained this was from the windage tray. But at the same time, it also burns a little more oil than i believe it should. My friend who is very familar with cars swears there is a possible 331 or 347 stroker kit on it, he said no reason having a 7 quart oil pan on a 302 unless something needed it... any info on maybe what all exactly i have would be very much appreciated for my curiosity ... this is the only downside to buying a highly modded used car, not knowing exactly what you get

Have you considered taking it to a buddy who is a mechanic and having him examine in the innards of the engine to see what you have? The curiosity would kill me and i'd want to know exactly what i have under the hood.

And the 5.0's used to burn a little bit of oil, but how much is yours burning? We have had 2 5.0's in my family but both were in trucks not mustangs, one burned 1 quart of oil a week, and 1 never burned a drop.

it shows absolutely no signs of shutting down soon... knock on wood lol, it honestly has been running better since i purchased it. I think it just needed to be driven a little, it was sitting in a garage next to a funny car, and it was his wifes... the thing seriously runs great, the only thing i really need to do yet is get it tuned... havnt been able to get around to doing that yet

The 5.0 will burn some oil. I just take a look at it at every fill up time. Just keep 1 or 2 qts with ya and you'll be good. The only way to see if it's a 331 or a 347 is opening the motor and looking at the piston and crank. If she runs like a camp I wouldnt do it but that's just me.
Ask the guy you bought it from. Is it a 331 or a 347. Does your s/c have a oil line running to the oil pan? If so that could be the reason your running a 7 qrt pan. Plus the more the better when it comes to oil!!!!
