got a 97 cobra i was driving yesterday in the snow had the lights on the heat on and the rear defroster and noticed that at points to battery gauge would fall pretty low and im pretty sure its an alternator cause when i would give it gas it would jump bak up and stay there it wasent constant only once in a while and i just got a redtop optima battery any suggestions??

Get a digital volt gauge and check the voltage at the battery with car running. Mine stock gauge sits very low with lights and defrost but on my multimeter it sits around 14.1-14.3 which is fine. If the voltage is low at the battery check at the postive wire on the alt and a good ground if it is good there then you need to check the wire going from the alt to the battery and the ground wires. Most likly it is a gauge probabaly stock gauge suck.
