You know, the only mod for the whole thing is the air cleaner swap. You are better off with a cleanable air filter like the one shown. You want cooler air, then wrap the intake with plain old aluminum foil.
You will have two subtle flow reading between both units. You are splitting hairs in my opinion, only because the air cleaner is the key to stepping up a touch more HP.
If the more expensive one has tow pieces, then that transition from one piece to the next will be a slight restricted wall at the junction points. So, again, splitting hairs which one. I'd replace the OEM and what HP you gain is simply more speed entering the chamber.
Air enters on the restricted mode if an OEM filter is feeding air. If there are less pleat thickness, then of course this is less restriction so there explains you slight improvement. |
