Default 2004 Mustang Cobra Wheel/Tire Upgrade, are 305's unrelistic?

sorry if this is a repost but i've been unable to find a topic with the answer im looking for.

i bought a set of 18" wheels for my 2004 cobra. the rears are 18x9.5 and i want to put the biggest tires i can fit on this thing. i was going to go with a 18/35/295 for the rear but could i stuff a 305 in the back?? Basically, whats the widest 18" tire i can put in the back of my 04 cobra.

Thanks in advance for all the help

A 305 should fit but you migth have to get the subframe bolts so the tire doesn't touch. Most get the 18X10.5 so they can put the 315's on. I had 18X9's on my saleen and 295's fit good.

so the wheels i ordered are an 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 staggered. I'll tuck a little 255 or 265 up front, who cares about that, but i can definitely fit a 305 in the back? and whats this bolt i need to change? i have a lift in my garage so im looking at the back of my car right now... not sure where to look? but hey as long as you say its possible im so ready to get some 305s for these wheels, just give me the OK haha

the rear subframe bolt through the upper bracket. you can get a flush mount bolt for that, i would say a 295 is probably as wide as you want to go on a 9.5 inch wheel. i am running a 315 bfg kdwII on a set of 18 x 10.5 and the tire is actually a bit wider the the wheel. i have a 9" front wheel and a 275 looks nice on those, nice straight sidewall, not flexed in or out. hope this helps
