Default 2003 mustang cobra compression loss on #8 cylinder

Hello,
I am new to this site. My name is ken and i live in riverside, ca. My check engine light came on at 55,000 miles. the dealer says head is suspect. codes on invoice are P0308 and P0316.
my trust in this dealer is not good due to other past service visits. i would appreciate any advice.
P.S. I love this car. i am not fond of dealers.

The codes really couldnt tell us if the head is trash.

Your best bet is to pull them off and do a tear down. Im going to say its the tipical #8 melt. Without the head cooling mod the coolant builds and gets hotter with the restriction, and melts #8 it happened to me and a few of my friends.

If you have the funds sell your heads, go with fr500 heads and cams, your rods are ok, and some forged pistons and call it a day.

This is common. usually they loose compression on 5-8, 7 and 8 is more typical though. The problem is with the heads. The 2005 revisioned heads is the fix, real fix. I have the cooling mod but it's more looked at as a bandaid then real fix. Did you have a ticking sound to? What was the compression on number 8?

Or like mentioned, get the Fr500 heads and cams from STEEDA.com Also the Ford GT heads are suppose to be good too.
