Default wheel hop?

whe i take off the traction control and accelerate heavily in first i would expect to just burn the tires... but i get a real bad wheel hop. whats up with that?

your not getting traction. either need more RPM or less momentem. i think

trac controll is just applied brakeing.

but im not sure. just an idea

i have yet to find some one else who when changing their oil ( every 2000 miles or when they get bored ) details the under side of their car.

X-C April 2010,Heads, Cam,Internals April 2011, or blown engine, witch ever comes first.

nah, traction control is a program in the 03 04 cobra. there is an on off switch and i had switched it off. why am i not getting a clean burnout???

Traction control isn't just braking. It will actually cut engine power to help stop spinning.

Your always going to have wheel hop. You can do things to reduce it, but the only way to get rid of it is to put a live axle rear in it. You can put aluminum diff bushings in, a rear diff brace in. That's all I can think of to reduce wheel hop. Someone else may have more ideas.

^+1 also some drag radials will help. Wheel hop with the IRS is just common. But if you have nothing to help with it right now, keep the burn out/wheel hop to a minimum, the rear housing is aluminum and doesn't take much to mess it up.
