Just got an e-mail back from a technician at Militec, here's his recommendation for our motors,
an 8oz bottle added to a new oil change every 15-20K miles and it's compatable with both synthetic and conventional oil..
I've seen this size bottle on Ebay in the $20-$25 range with an even bigger savings if you opt for the 16oz size, I'm gonna give it a try it's pretty interesting stuff, it was originally made for Firearms.

I've been using Militec for years. I personally opt for a case of it in the 16oz bottles. It used to cost me about 160 bucks for 12 bottles but I haven't bought it in a while (that was with a law enforcement discount) . I have a coworker that was in Iraq. He said Militec was far superior to CLP in their M-4s. I told him I was already clued in. My own firearms function better after being treated. I am in no way affiliated with their company. I was turned on to it about 10 years ago by a mechanic that allowed me to perform a test in his shop. He had a simple lever that applied downforce to a spinning bearing. I poured various lubes to the bearing and applied downforce until the bearing seized. I throughly cleaned the bearing with break cleaner between tests. After locking up a dry bearing with almost no downforce, conventional motor oil was the first lube up. It seized with the lever pushed about a third of the way. Synthetic was good for just a few more pounds of downforce. Next up was Slick 50 which did allow for more downforce than synthetic motor oil but the bearing still seized. Lastly I used Militec. I could press the lever completely towards the floor AND KEEP IT THERE with no seizure. I wish I had been able to test Am Sol or Lucas products but the Militec test told me what i needed to know. I personally performed each test. There was no way to rig the test. Up until that time I had always been sceptical of additives. All I can say is I'm a convert. Oh yeah, I'm a reloader as well. My bullet velocities chrono higher after being treated with everything else remaining constant.

Wow that's Awesome! Yeah I've used Lucas before but became alarmed how thick and sticky the stuff was, DEFINTELY not the SAE 10 weight that the Militec 1 is, thanks for the info I'm gonna tell my boss at work about the product, he's a HUGE gun afficiando, I wanna see if he's heard about it, I'M SOLD!

+1

That's all I use. Mostly because I bought mine used and the previous owner used Mobil1 from day 1. But I've been pleased so far.
