The car has 136,700 miles on it. At 70,000 miles the front driver wheel bearing was replaced, the rest are all original. Currently I am hearing noises from the front driver wheel bearing again. It was previously replaced at Tires Plus and all I have to say is "damn non-Ford Cobra specific parts!". There may not be Cobra specific wheel bearings but everytime I use non-Ford parts they break sooner. OK, back to my story. At about 100,000 miles I heard a sqeak coming from that wheel, grease was injected through the dust boot of the suspension components and the noise stopped. At about 115,000-120,000 miles it started to squeak again. I could hear it while I was driving, the faster I drove the faster the squeak got but it was faint. Couldn't hear it with windows up or radio on. Slowly it got louder. Within the last 6,000 miles I can hear it with windows up and/or radio on. Its louder as I first start to brake (very lightly pushing on the brake pedal) but stops when brake pedal is pressed harder. There is also some play in the wheel - the car kind of wanders but this is felt less with the snow tires on so maybe its just my other tires. Then this morning it started to grind when brakes were pushed. Its not the rotors or pads, they've been replaced and the noise is strictly coming from one wheel. Does this sound like a wheel bearing to you or am I off here? And what do you think the likelihood is of them saying others need to be replaced since they are all original at close to 140,000 miles. I don't hear any noise from the others and I dont have a lift at my townhome so please don't recommend that I put my hands at 12 and 6 on the wheel and try to move it.
