Default 1996 Mustang cobra exahust question

Ok so my stock Cat's are malfunctioning so it is time to remove them and get some exahust work done. I was thinking about going with a Magnaflow off road x pipe from american muscle. But I was wondering if I should buy a cat back system also or just by some mufflers and have the local exhaust shop run some 2.5 in pipe from the cat back and put some tips on it. Would this be the same as a cat back system or is there more too these systems? Also any one got the offroad x pipe that as a video up?

Ok so I have looked around and I'm looking at the following o/r xpipes. Bassani,BBK and the Magnaflow. They are all priced nicely the BBK is the cheapest. Which is the best bang for the buck. I don't want my car to be to loud. I hate to have to scream on the highway to talk to the wife. I'm mainly looking for some extra power and a better tone. Also will I have issue with the egr valve with a o/r x pipe? If so should I get a deleate kit and if I do get a deleate kit will it cause a CEL? Man I'm just full of questions.

It is the Mac pro chamber any one have any exprince with these. I heard a clip on youtube with this and some flowmasters and it sounded really good not to loud.

Is passing emisions an issue in your area that would be my deciding factor in cats or no cats ...all the other stuff can be fixed with the money you save give or take ...all the trouble codes for the exhaust can be delete with a chip

as for exhaust

.....i have the stock h pipe on my car but i have the SLP LM1's as my cat back system ....honestly for 484 bucks shipped not bad ....honestly it is just straight pipes: only it goes from a some 3inch pipe to a 4 and a half inch or so tube then back into the 3 inch pipe as a sound resonator ...it sounds hot, but the interior sound is pretty balanced. Enough to hear to make me smile ,but quiet enough to talk on my cell fone while um in the passenger seat hahaha. The SLP is a very well though out kit very shiny too...woman follow the shiny stuff

I don't have to pass emisson's just a state saftey inspections and to be honest in my area they don't even look at the cars. I heard the pro chamber and it sounds really nice. Sounds like the tone I'm looking for not to raspy but a nice low tone. Thinking about going with that they look to only be like 230 shipped. And then maybe go ahead and get a cat back system. I'm a little worried about what all I have to do when removing the cats. I'm going to buy the american muscle plug in MIL elimnators so that should take care of the o2 sensor side of things but will anything need to be done with the EGR?

If you are buying a new midpipe you don't need to worry about removing your cats. They will come off with the midpipe, then just slap that prochamber in a there ya go. the prochamber sounds very good and does have that deep tone. If you are going with an o/r prochamber I would not suggest the slp catback because it will be incredibly loud. You could just throw on some flowmaster's and call it a day.

I have been litsening to tons of clips today. www.mustangexhaust.com as lots of them. I'm thinking I like the prochamber best so far. That with some flows. Currently my exahust ends right before the axle and just as turn downs. I'm going to have it go out the back when I'm done.

If you haven't changed it yet, listen to the Bassani catted X pipe with their cat back. I run that set-up on my 96 SVT Cobra Vert, and it sounds and runs awesome, Mike.

I run a Pypes off road X mid-pipe with a stock Cobra cat-back on my Mach. It has the right combination of sound volume and tone for my tastes, but sometines I think I would like it a little louder.
