Default anyone use 6.5-7.0 quarts of oil in their Cobras?

I've seen in lots of 03-04 Cobra Forums almost all run this amount, how much does everybody run in their normally aspirated? If so is there gasket leaking issues with adding over the norm?

I use 6.5 of 5W30 Castrol Syntec, but I have an oil filter relocator kit. Which gives me, the option of using a larger oil filter. If your oil filter, is in the stok location on the side of the block use 6 quarts. It is possible, to have seal issues, Mike SCT Tuner.

This SVT Performance link will blow your theory out of the water Mike, the stock cobra pan can hold 9 quarts before reaching the top and the consensus is 7 quarts cause lots of oils gets stuck up in the heads which can cause the oil pickup during High Rpms to starve for oil!! EVERYONE CHECK THIS LINK and put 6.75 -7.0 quarts in your motors! I did to mine today!

I use 7 quarts in my 94 Cobra. I'm not real savy with all the mechanics yet, but I know it has a windage tray. Does that have anything to do with the increased oil amount and i read about windage trays being put on for crank clearance but other than that is there any other reasons mine would have one on? I also read people put them on for stroker motors as well. I bought it like that and was just curious.

The cranks on the Cobra motors sit up high in the block and even with 7 quarts poured into the pan(not even considering when the filter fills up) the counterweights still have daylight between them and the oil, plus it isn't an issue when you start the motor your only gonna have 4 quarts(filling with 6) and 5 quarts (filling with 7) left in the pan when your driving. So do your motors Good and feed them 7 quarts with a filter that has a anti drainback valve!

After seeing that I'll be using 7 quarts. I had been using 6.5 quarts.
