Default Rotor/Caliper Rubbing, Help Please

Can anyone advise as to why the rotor would hit against the inside of the brake caliper. I have a 99 Cobra with IRS. It is hitting on the right rear. The rotor is offset to the rear of the caliper opening and grinding. I cannot figure out why it is so close. There is a little play in the IRS halfshaft but not enough to shift the rotor into the caliper. The brake pads were wearing evenly before the brake job and during pad installation the pistons seemed to compress normally. After new brakes/turned rotors they are still grinding. Help Please.

I'm no expert but I'll throw out a couple of thoughts. Rotor is below the minimum thickness or was not turned correctly.

make sure the surface on the hub where the rotor sits is not out of round or warped, also make sure the mounting bracket for the caliper is not damaged or bent. make sure everything was installed correctly and that your rim is mounted properly to the hub.

almost sounds warped, but the person that turned them should have noticed that. strange.

most techs dont check the hub/spindle assembly, when the rotor slides on make sure its sitting perfect on the hub. if the rotor was warped to the point where it rubbed on the caliper(never seen before) you would feel a pulsation in the pedal. normally you cant physically see the warpage.

Sounds like there is play in the wheel bearing. Was the brake job done to repair this or is this new since the brake job?
