a 4.6 is a 4.6, so the heads will fit. Since you say auto, 6 bolt crank, then you'll either have to A. Switch out the crank to have an 8 bolt or B. get a new fly wheel for a 6 bolt design. You will also have to buy a pilot bearing and intall it in the back of the block where the input shaft would go. Sorry to hear about your car and goodluck, let us know how it goes

there was no cobra in 2004, you need a 2001-2003 dohc engine, I'd recommend just perusing ebay for a complete one and toss the one you have or sell it for parts to finance the install...

Exclamation Always check the casting number if you dont know the seller personally!!!

Always Always Always ask for the Casting number before you buy a 4.6 of any kind. There are a lot of guys out there slinging Mark 8 and old GT stuff that is just really clean. I am not saying this is the case but checking the casting on goodle could save you some serious issues.

I also agree with 2ManyStangs, If you can find a complete motor I would go that route you will be much happier in the long run with the power and it will actually be less work!

Good luck man I hope you find a good one.

UM, no cobra in 2004!? give me a break. Do your research before you post something like that. They made a 2003 and 2004 supercharged cobra.
