Default any difference between t5 for cobra and regular t5?

hey guys, I have a 95 svt cobra and its time for a rebuild on the tranney but I was thinking it might be cheeper to just buy a new one because the parts are only around $2-300 but I've never done a rebuild on a tranney and am thinking of just buying a new or reconditioned one. I heard there was a difference in mounting for the crossmember on the cobra spec transmissions. is this true? I just don't want to get one pull everything apart and try to put the new tranney in, get to the crossmember and be stuck.

thank in advance

Never delt with the t5. But I just had my t45 rebulit. I wish I would of just bought a rebulit one. Cost was 1100 total for the rebulid. I could of got a kelsler t45r for that. Live in learn though.

I found one at astroperformance that has been reconditioned to withstand 400 hp for 765 plus shipping but I don't really need anything like that. I think I've read that theres a difference between the foxbody transmissions and the 94 and 95 transmissions but I don't remember what was different.

does anyone know if theres a difference for the cobras?

Going way back here...I think the Cobra's differences were internal to handle the additional power...there should be no physical differences as it had a 302 in it...unlike 1996 which has completely different engine than GT

ok cool thank you. I don't know if it was actually stronger I know it was a lower first gear and I think a higher 5th but I'm not sure. I don't remember where it was but I heard the cross memeber mounting was different. I don't see why it would be but you never know.
