whats the biggest size tire i could get?

97 cobra was wondering what the biggest size tire i could put on a set of 17x9 rims ?? ive go 255 on it rite now and it dosent look like i got much more room befor i touch exhaust

275/40-17 out back and 255/40-17 up front.
technically you can run 275's up front but it will rub

yeah much more than 255 up front will give your squirrely handling, I have 275/35/18s on my Saleen but it is clearly at it's limit of diameter

if i get 10.5 rims in the back can i go bigger with the tire or is it gonna rub ??

315/35-17 for a 10.5in rims
