Default 2004 Cobra - Oil Separating Systems Questions

i'm basically going to be running nitrous in the next week and am curious how its going to effect the factory pcv setup. im sort of assuming that since the pcv is only drawing something while im pulling vacuum at idle, so it shouldn't be a problem but i'd like to make sure that the nitrous isnt going to screw something up. i've seen some very intricate oil separator setups out there and i'm wondering why they've gone to such extent to do that? whats the benefit?

thanks in advance
-Vinny

(setup is an 04 cobra at 17psi, wet nitrous kit through fogger nozzle in the intake tube)

bro you don't really need an oil separator and I take it you don't run breathers? You should eliminate your PCV and the inlet hose on the passenger side valve cover and put K&N 3 inch breathers on them, part # 62-1160. SO MUCH oil vapor gets sucked into the intake through these 2 areas, when I did my rebuild there was a half quart in the lower plenum. I can send links to guys who run the fastest 03-04 Cobras in the country that debated the benefits of them! Here's a photo of a friends motor, I have the same ones just don't have a pic in my laptop!

you haven't had any problems with oil leaking out? the only reason i haven't done what you did yet is because i didn't want oil shooting out my valve covers. where'd you order those from? or will my local autozone have something like that

I didn't answer you initial question, guys put oil separators on there Cobras for the reason I mentioned, to keep the oil vapor from flooding the intake and mixing into the air fuel mixture which is a BAD thing, it lowers octane and can cause Detonation. I've had breathers on my car for a bit know with ZERO probs, no smell or oil leaking on the valve covers at all, idle is perfect( in fact better) After you oil the K&N gauze element I'd recommend (but it's not essential) wrapping that area with a sweatband, got mine at the walmart tennis section(wilson) cut it in half then open it so the piece isn't doubled, cut in half again, put it on the breathers and fold both edges under the Chrome lip hanging down.I just went out in the garage and took a couple pics, here's mine.. Best place to purchase? I'll send you the link in a PM~
Don't skimp and get the tiny 2 inch rice burner ones at autozone, those Suck! You won't get proper crankcase ventilation.. K&N 3 inch only! Their only a few dollars more.
