Default 1997 cobra upper and lower intake help?

I have a 97 cobra procharge and I wanted to remove my upper and lower intake and get it port and polish! so does anyone have pictures on how to take it of and put on. it would save me 180 dollars if I took it of myself and put it on? please help would be greatly appreciated. oh and I ALSO bought a single oval throttle body and my upper intake is a double so I have to get that cut and smooth out!

I think this thread might get more response in the Cobra forum, so I'm moving it there.

If you can wait a day, I'll see what I can do. As far as port and polish, hold off on the polish you'll see more of a gain, Mike. SCT Tuner. 96 SVT Cobra, 402rwhp and 418rwtq N/A.

This is for your lower intake, I'm going to see if I can do the same for the upper, Mike. SCT Tuner. For some reason, won't leave a photo so right click on link then left click open. It will open another window, with the photo of the lower intake.
  1. Remove upper intake manifold.
  2. Disconnect connectors from fuel manifold and fuel injectors, then disconnect wiring harness and mounting clips.

Intake Manifold Removal Sequence

  1. Loosen then remove intake manifold bolts and stud bolts in sequence shown.
  2. Disconnect wiring from Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) controller while lifting intake manifold assembly from engine.
  3. Remove fuel manifolds with injectors from intake manifold.
  4. Remove RH and LH lower intake manifolds with IMRC from intake manifold, discard all gaskets and load limit spacers.
INSTALLATION

  1. Ensure all mating surfaces are clean and free of old adhesive, burrs and gouges.
  2. Remove protective backing from adhesive surface of gaskets for lower intake manifolds with IMRC, then position gaskets onto both lower manifolds W/IMRC, ensure correct alignment by using tapered pins of lower manifolds W/IMRC.
  3. Install both lower manifolds W/IMRC to intake manifold. NOTE : Tighten bolts only finger tight at this time.
  4. Install fuel injectors and fuel supply manifold to intake manifold.
  5. Place new intake manifold gaskets into place on cylinder head, ensure correct location of gasket alignment pins.
  6. Guide manifold assembly into position while connecting IMRC wiring.

Lower Intake Manifold Tightening Sequence

  1. Install bolts seven, eight, nine and ten. Do not tighten bolts at this time.
  2. Install remaining bolts and stud bolts, then hand tighten all bolts and stud bolts.
  3. Tighten bolts and stud bolts to 15-22 ft lb in sequence.
  4. Torque lower intake manifold W/IMRC to intake manifold bolts to 5.9-8.8 ft lb .
  5. Connect IMRC cables and levers.
  6. Connect fuel manifold and fuel injector wiring connectors, then install retaining clips.

This should be all you need, for the upper and lower intake, Mike.
  1. Turn ON ignition and wipers, turn OFF ignition to position wipers in mid cycle (straight up).
  2. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove wiper module.
  3. Drain engine cooling system into a suitable container, then relieve fuel system pressure.
  4. Remove air cleaner outlet tube.
  5. Remove engine drive belt.
  6. Remove ignition wire covers from valve covers.
  7. Disconnect ignition wires at spark plugs and coils. NOTE : Do not pull on wires, pull on caps only. Remove ignition wires and guides from engine.
  8. Disconnect wiring connectors from alternator and mounting bracket.
  9. Remove alternator to intake manifold mounting brackets.
  10. Disconnect and remove water bypass tube.
  11. Mark and disconnect all wiring connectors to upper intake manifold components.
  12. Remove alternator from engine.
  13. Disconnect accelerator and speed control cables and brackets.
  14. Mark and disconnect all vacuum hose connections to intake manifold components.
  15. Disconnect PCV hose, then remove idle air control valve inlet tube.
  16. Disconnect and remove as required for bolt access:
    1. EGR valve.
    2. Idle Air Control (IAC) valve.
    3. Throttle body.
  1. Remove upper intake manifold retaining bolts, then upper intake manifold.
  2. Reverse procedure to install, noting following:
    1. Ensure mating surfaces of manifolds are clean and free of burrs and gouges and seal is properly positioned.

Upper Intake Manifold Tightening Sequence

    1. Install upper intake manifold and lightly tighten bolts in sequence, then tighten to 5.9-8.8 ft lb .
    2. Lubricate coolant bypass tube O-rings with a suitable rubber lube, use extreme care not to cut O-rings during installation.
    3. Use a suitable ohmmeter to ensure a good ground for temperature sender mounted on coolant bypass tube.
    4. Fill and bleed cooling system.
    5. Do not allow engine coolant to come into contact with serpentine drive belt and pulleys, if necessary remove belt and flush with clean water
