When I hear that a 18 year old wants a 03 cobra they are not looking to collect the car, park it in a garage covered????? They want an out of the box fast car. I have owned my 03 cobra for a year and a half it sits in a garage covered . I put 800 miles on it since I bought it. Its so fast on the street that it really is not that fun to drive and the cops...... Name one 18 year old that did that?
What I would do is find an older sn-95 or fox body gt that has a 331 or 347 built with a turbo. Get a sleeper. White is a great color or black no blue its a cop magnet. The insurance is really pricey for you young guys, but an older car would be cheap to insure and you can build one or buy one to smoke a cobra. I would go this way if you want a fast cheap car.
The other reason is cops, I am 36 years old do not race on the street at all, have a perfect driving record and get f$&k with all the time. Every time I take out my 98 cobra (bright atlantic blue) I get pulled over and the car searched. Every time. This car sits in the garage covered next to the 03 cobra and is driven 1000 miles a year maybe.
Buy a cobra later in life when the insurance is not $150 a month.
By the way there real are not many cobras on the race track most are fox bodies.
The cobras are just really nice drivers stock.
My quest for fast cars lead me to buy alot of great cars. And made me see that racing is for the track. You can not road race on the street due to cops , people and the roads are to small. You cant just spin out and laugh on the street, you cant push your car to its limits with out hurting your self or someone else.
You can buy a road race car that will smoke a 03 cobra for half the price and you dont have to pay insurances
