I have a 1999 SVT Cobra.
I want to build this car up to 600+Hp. Right now it's bone stock. I bought it like that because I wanted to build it myself.

However, I was told that it would be easier to get ahold of an '03-'04 Terminator engine and go from there since it came supercharged and already had forged internals.

There is a great deal of planning and expense you'll incur.

not sure how if a 5 speed would work with a 03/04 Cobra computer, may be better off obtainin a T56 and driveshaft

Keep the rear axle and change the gear ratio to a 3.73 !

Any way you look at it, your better off keeping/selling the 99' and buying a real Terminator! They're going cheap now a days..

There is a laundry list of parts you would need to convert your tekskid block 4V into a terminator like engine. But consider the benefits of a real 03/04 Cobra motor over the engine/ trans combo in your 99'

I owned an 01 Cobra and after looking at the numbers and effort involved, purchasing a real Terminator won out.

There are other options.. Installing a turbo will net the numbers your looking for. Or a centrifugal supercharger and small shot of nitrous.

you could change your rods/pistons and heads, add the blower and get some big numbers with the motor you have...bettter yet, build it with a stroker kit and twin turbos...weeee

What exactly is a stroker kit?
And do you know where to find a twin turbo system to fit the 99 Cobra?

another thing to check out if you do the swap is the fuel system. They are also very different
