Hey guys I am wondering if anybody can teach me about superchargers. I want to add some power to my 03 cobra but don't know what is the best way to do it. My cobra is strictly for street use, if I take it to the track it will be a one time deal to get some numbers. So what do you recommend. Are KBs and whipples really better than the eaton or are they just bigger superchargers? Does more boost equal more stress on the engine? What do you guys suggest I want more power but i don't need unceesary power(so much power that my wheels spin instead of my car going forward). Either way I am planning to get CAI, x or h pipe, borla stingers, pulley and a tune. Thanks.
On a budget I'd choose the Steggy ported Eaton, plenty of the fastest street Terminators are running them and the most aggressive ones are seeing 10 sec timeslips!
And everyone knows what KB and Whips do to the Cobra motor, their Both Animals but can get costly with all the fuel upgrades needed! If it were me I'd do a Stage IV Stiegemeier Port with a Billetflow pulley combo with the boost level of your choice!
Hey man if your interested i have a stiegemeier blowerStage 5 with welded OEM Throttle Body and Plenum it says on their site it gives 65+ HP, 35+ TQ i payed $895 for it and about $175 to get all the front drive rebuilt. i never installed it i just went ahead and bought a 3.4 whipple. If your interested let me know man.
You can get a stage one port that will give you around 30 hp. All the way up to a stage 5 with throttle body and plenum for gains of around 75hp. Regardless even with the stage 1 you will hit nearly 500hp with the right setup. And the stage 5. . . pure awesomeness. Stiegemeier Pricing Schedule
Honestly, I'd laugh, hard, if you put a KB or Whipple on an 03-04 Cobra and only made 500hp.
...unless you plan on driving a 500 hp killing machine for a DD
And what's wrong with that? LOL!

I would go with the stage IV but even then you could need a fuel or maf upgrade. The stage 1, which i'll get since i want a Whipple down the road, you won't need any upgrades depending on what mods you have now.

I know you have to send in your supercharger but how long would it take? Is hard to take off the supercharger then reinstall it or do you recommend a shop do it. Thanks.
As far as having a shop do it, that depends on how mechanically inclined you are. A ported Eaton would put less stress on the motor, vs. a Kenne Bell or a Whipple Charger. It all depends, what you plan on doing with the car. How aggressive you want it, the more stress you put on the 03 the more parts you break. There's plenty of bone yards out there, loaded with Cobra IRS systems piled high. If I were you, and driving it on the street most the time. Just do a mild port on that Eaton, a crank pulley swap with a good dyno tune. That should put you in the ball-park, where you'll have enough power to satisfy your needs without breaking parts. With the right pulley and tune, along with a good port job should put you around the 500hp mark, Mike. SCT Tuner.
Your limiting factor will be your budget...if the sky is the limit go with a Kenne Bell Blowzilla, if you want to save cash, a pulley change and tune will net good numbers...NOS is the easy way to have fun at the track, along with slicks, have a chip made just for the spray and then revert to "impulse" power when you leave...best of all worlds

Here's what I'd do Blue Venom, check for a stock eaton upper takeoff with low miles on Ebay-CL, I've seen them as low as $250, send it to Steggy for the Port Job, or when in stock they have ones already done and you send them your core back..
If you want it done right, your looking at 7K +. Figure blower, injectors, GT pumps, BAP, fuel rails, wideband, solid rear, mass air, labor, tune and other misc items. Sure you can cut corners, but somewhere down the line something will give. And with this kind of power, I've even seen the T56 break like a old T5 tranny. Like stated above, for a street car with a respectable amount of power, I would port it and enjoy it. Depending on your hp numbers, you still may have to have some of the above mentioned items.
