whats the difference between a 2001 and a 2004 cobra. The reason Im asking this is that Im thinking of super charging my car. Im hoping the whipples will bolt onto my car. I know the fuel system will have to change and the 04 are iron blocks as compared to as aluminumin in the 01 cobras. Will the 03 or 04 whipples fit onto my car.
The 03-04 Cobra use a twin in tank fuel pump which is a totally different setup than the 01. Your right the blocks are different and the 03-04's have better Manley Rods stock.
Retrofitting an Eaton Blower on a 99-01 Cobra is a pretty big undertaking and Lots of parts are needed for the switch but yes those other companies make Kits for your motor!
I agree, some guys see Eatons on Ebay for $500 or less and buy them not knowing all the other bracketry and mods necessary!!
Just get a Kit for the 99-01's.
My next Mod will be a Vortech V-3 setup, they don't make a self oiling Kit for our car but the V-3 Blower bolts up the same way as the V-1 and 2!
Consider you will spend about $7000 to supercharge your car, add the ugrades it will demand like fuel pump, MAF and injectors, and have it tuned and it is my opinion one should sell what they have and buy a terminator cobra...that way you'll also get the 6 spd and IRS...twin turbos are the way to go if you really want bolt on performance...if I had it to do again that is what I would have done(sold car and bought terminator)

2001 cobra does have IRS. But yes just buy a tremmie way cheaper and a better engine by far than a 01.
To buy a built 32 valve 4.6 long block with forged bottom end like the tremmie has would cost $10k then you would have to buy injectors, pumps, maf,tb, super charge or turbo. You could make alot more power than a stock tremmie but be into the car for $20k just for the engine

Not necessarily. I bought a brand new Ford Racing Aluminator long block, fully forged bottom end with 8.5cr for $6K delivered to the shop that did the install. The KB s/c costs another 6 grand, and the Aluminator motor could support it with a lot lower cost fuel system and intake parts than the ones I went with. I just decided to go with the high end stuff so that down the road there wouldn't be issues with things being pegged during the tuning process, so basically, I have a slight case of overkill in that department.

Nothing wrong with a slight case of overkill. It's also nice to go through the process once. JMO
