Default 1995 Cobra. Odometer not working and question on boltons

Just purchased a 95' Cobra. Have a couple questions? First of all, the car seems like it has mostly factory parts. It does have headers and an off road H-pipe. I don't want to go crazy with all kind of modification, but I would like to get around 30 more horsepower. Any suggestions on inexpensive modification? The odometer is not working in the car. Does any1 know where on the transmission I would find it?

As far as gaining around 30hp, that's never inexpensive. Trick Flow upper and lower intake, get rid of the H pipe gains if any with an O/R pipe are minimal. Your actually better off, with a free flowing catted X pipe like Bassani. Along with the intake, a 70 - 75mm Throttle body and a good set of Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Aluminum Heads. In between the upper and lower intake, I would add a 1 inch phenolic spacer you'll be surprised it really works. I have the parts I've mentioned, on my 89 notch w/a 306 cu. in. motor all with the exception of a Pro-M 90mm MAF, calibrated for 30 lb. injectors. That was the size of the injectors, when I started the build up of the 306 cu.in. it wasn't cheap trust me but it woke it up. Now your trans, it has a speed sensor located on the left side of the tail-shaft where the gear attatches. There's just no cable, like on the older Foxes. The 95 Cobra is a digital set-up, which plugs into the back of the cluster. But the sensor is located, on the tail-shaft, Mike. SCT Tuner.

For the odometer, like mentioned, look at the tail shaft, drivers side i believe. either it's unplugged, the teeth on the speedo gear or worn off or broken off or it could just be the cluster..
30hp more, could go with a CAI, TB, UDP's, nice catback. That should get you 30HP but 30rwhp will be a little different. Nice ride though

Another great mod is the Pro 5.0 shifter, the factory one is so slow and sloppy you'll actually accelerate faster since you can shift faster...toss the leather seats for some lighweight Sparco's...lighter is faster...subframe connectors are a great easy/inexpensive mod that will make the car drive and handle better...check Ebay, you get get some great deals there on parts

Thanks alot 4 all the information. So you think the combination between shorty headers and the off road is a bad choice? I feel like my biggest setback is the 3.08 rear gear. Do you think I'd be better off with 3.55 or 3.73? Any thoughts on cold air intake?
