Ok, so I bought a 2001 Cobra Conv. and beefed up the suspension and rear end first. I lowered it, new caster camber plates, Koni's, put subframe connectors, rust proofed the undercarriage ect.. I have not touched the engine yet and I want to know what the best cold air system for the money is. Does anyone live in or near Chicago that knows a great place to tune my car and possibly install parts? Also has a dyno. Any help with inexpensive horsepower gains would be great too.
JLT RAI Straight Shot for the intake!!
Get the stock H Pipe OFF!!
Get a hand held Tuner, by it used unmarried and save 50% or more off retail (I got my Predator for $160)
Some like pullies but I wouldn't mess with the stockers to get a single digit HP gain!
Many of the Top tuners are now E-mailing Custom Tunes that you can import into your ECU (via the Hand Held)and then Dyno and Datalog the results then send those figures back for another final revision, that's the route I took. There a few Very Good Tuners in my area but I went the above mentioned route!
I got my Predator on Ebay from Granettelli Motorsports, do a search for the model number U7146 or if you prefer the SCT Xcal 2 or 3, and Yes unmarried means it isn't locked to another cars computer, when a person sells their car or wants to sell the Tuner they load their stock computer flash back into the car and then the Tuner becomes unmarried to it & can be resold and used on another cars VIN!
Oh Cool Thanks Gary Paul I'll fix my Sig, I didn't notice!
If you plan on using a strut tower brace be very careful what one you pick. I'm not sure a JLT works with any strut brace. I have a Kenny Brown Strut brace, and I did have the C&L True Flow pipe. But they don't fit correctly. I pulled it off cause I need to modify the strut brace. If you never plan on using the brace, I hear alot of good about JLT.
