Default '96 Cobra temperature gauge

When I start my '96, when cold, the temperature gauge automatically moves up to 12 o'clock I don't recall from my previous '97 and 2001 if this was normal. Anyone know?
Runs great and no indications of a problem

No, that's not normal. It sounds like your cluster, is on it's way out, Mike.SCT Tuner.

those gauges are more like idiot gauges, and not calling anyone that, but they are pretty much inaccurate from the factory. Definitley the oil pressure gauge. it never moves, so it's just saying.....yep you have pressure. If it was that accurate, it would move with increased rpms. I honestly would go aftermarket if i was you. One day it will get hot and you might not know it till it's to late.
