my 97 cobra has had the check engine light on for as long as I can remember, when I bought the car the light was not on but shortly after the purchase it came on. I have run the codes and it comes up with "intake manifold runner is stuck closed." anyone know what, or where this is located and how I fix it. It does not seem to make the car run any worse, and t has not blown the engine up (YET.)

hhhuuummmmmm.. well.. if the trouble code says "intake manifold runner is stuck closed", that's just about it.. hahahah..

If your Cobra has a variable intake manifold, then its stuck.. it’s probably the solenoid that makes it work, or something like that.. thought, I’ve never worked with one of these, im just kind of guessing..

Interesting...you can change that setting with a handheld computer, also if it happens once it may have kicked the code on...doesn't mean it's a permanent condition...I tell people my check engine light was turned on at the factory, it's always on too for a variety of reasons...low rpm miss, too rich, etc...

Thanks for the info, and it is not a constant problem, the light will turn off for a couple hundred miles and then turn back on.
