Default 1996 Mustang Cobra rack and pinion

hey guys hows it going? well just last week i noticed my left front tire was very bad on the inner area the wires were already out and i noticed on the right front tire the same but not that bad still with some thread left but the inner area was more wasted thatn the rest of the tire. so i figuere it was and aligment right? so i took it to the shop bought a used tire and ask for the aligment, and after a while the mechanic tells me he couldn't do the aligment because he says my rack and pinion is mess up, he said if i didn't noticed my sterring wheel was slightly to the right? i was like yeah but i thought it was normal, so is this true is my rack and pinion mess up, or can it be something else?

i ain't gona have money for like at least 2 months so i'm just gona keep a good eye on the tires lol

there are inner tie rod ends on it, You can by some cool ones that are cheap. My buddy has them on his car I will find out who makes them. I would also replace outer ends also. Ball joints too. Sounds like she has some milage on her. I did all of this to my 94 gt which was so loose it was hard to drive. After words it was tight like a tiger

outer tie rods are $12 bucks each inners are cheap too

I have Steeda balljoints and the bumpsteer(tie rods) but you might need CC plates. Is your car lowered 2 or more inchs?
You can get underneath and see if your balljoints, the boots, are ripped. also put your car on a jack stand, support the A arm and see if you can wiggle the tire around. it shouldn't move, if so, the balljoints are bad.
I honestly don't think that the mechanic you went to for the alignment knows much.
I have to get an alignment on my Cobra this week. i adjusted it myself as close as i can so i can drive it there.
