I'm also thinking of upgrading my exhaust with the Borla Stingers but I need to install an X-pipe before I redo the mufflers.

dynobob@stiegemeier.com

email dynobob for price quotes, he usually emails you back pretty quick or just call. I think the stage IV alone was $495, if you send a money order you take $25 bucks off. If you get the port, i would get your TB and plenum done too or buy an aftermarket one.
Gears, i would probably go 3.73 max for these cars. The off the line torque the SC produces is already crazy.
The JLT RAI is what I bought when I got my car, IMO it's the best also.
Oh and i remember when that episode first aired, it was awesome.

WHY? There's Steggy Ported Eatons with 75 shots of NOS putting down 650 RWHP with 775 Torque!! And the cost difference switching to a High boost KB would be BIG!
And SVT03 DAL, do you have a pic of your engine compartment?
I wanna see how your CAI is set up, at the very least I'd try an S&B long neck open end filter with MAF adapter, but for the $50 extra for the JLT RAI you get the straight shot piping pieces from the MAF to TB which definitely helps over the crimped stocker!
And also why the $$$ Borlas? Just throw on an aluminized Mac O/R H!

I'm in MA so the O/R H wouldn't pass emissions, they're pretty strict up here. I found a pic that shows the Steeda set-up (not of my car but it looks just like this)

the stock 3.55 is a really good gear for what you will gain going to 3.73s its not worth it. It wont stick to the ground anyway. and when you get it on a road race track you will wish you had the 3.55
If you are drag racing the 3.73 or 4.10 will be great

Yeah that's one day out of the year, the day before the smog test bolt the stock cats back on then the next day throw on the O/R, I did it that way in Florida for 10 years before they did away with testing! If you give me a lift and impact gun, less than 30 minutes it will be done and sealed tight! From 4500-6500 rpms you'll feel a Big difference running lots of boost getting the Cats off! You should do a Dyno comparison if you make the switch! And I was born and raised in Scituate, my whole family still lives up your way! Also do you have that heatshield installed on your Steeda? That's gonna effect airfllow on that part of the filter, I'd scrap it,and NO IAT temps don't change dramatically, that's been documented by many Cobra owners when they datalogged with the JLT RAI! 409 is Nice #'s for your very mildly modded setup , if you took that shield off and pulled out the headlight it probably would have done 414, even more with the RAI!

My best run on the Dyno when it was bone-stock was 376.3 RWHP and 380.1 RWTQ. The guys at the speed shop thought that was pretty good even for a stock Terminator. She runs pretty rich (you can smell it when it's on the dyno). I gained 33 RWHP just from the Flowmasters and Steeda CAI so I can't complain. I'll look into the JLT RAI and an O/R H or X (any idea if there is an advantage of one over the other?) She has a nice growl to her right now but I'm curious to see how much louder she gets with the O/R .

it will get alot louder. the only problem is you can get pulled over and the cop can write a ticket for not cats or illegal exhaust. In California its a $1400 fine for no cats and then you have to take your car to a smog only garage for the rest of the time you own the car.
I seem to get picked on in my cobras. Every time i drive the 98 I get pulled over and i know not to speed in that car. Drove 325 miles to work pulled over 2 times in one day. ! for window tint which I get it was dark but i bought the car that way, the other was because " illegal exhaust" so he said after he searched me and my car like i was a crack head on the show cops. He let me go.
Yesterday driving back home from work . I was in AZ driving back to San Diego Pulled over again and the car searched. They let me go. I'm 36 years have never been arrested, have no tickets. It something about the bright atlantic blue on that car. It does shine good and stick out but I m just straight up getting harrassed.

33 RWHP with just a muffler and CAI swap on an 03 Cobra has to be a record, haha! Was the same Dyno used both times with similar air conditions?

The dyno session after the upgrades was done on the exact same dyno almost a year to the day from the baseline session. Both days were overcast and cool from what I can remember. I posted pix of the baseline dyno run in the SVT Cobra Talk forum. I belong to the Mustang Car Club of New England and they have a Dyno Day every spring and fall at a place down in Seekonk. I'll scan the Dyno sheets and post them soon.
