Default 97 cobra oil problems

so last week i decided to check the oil on my 97 cobra n saw that there wasent a drop on the dipstick but there was no noise of oil lights coming up..so i gave it an oil change with mobil 1 synthetic 5w-30 and mobil 1 filter and today exactly one week later i checked it when the car was just sitting all day and it showed the oil was on min so i figured maybe its burned it so i went and got some more oil when i came back i let the car sit for a bout 20 min checked the oil before i added and it was at max didnt even need a drop is this supposed to happen? do i need to let the car run for a little before i check the oil ? is there a resivoir somewhere i dont know about...and the reason i thought it might have burned it is because when i gave it a tune up plug 7 and 8 were covered in oil so i think the valve seals are leaking a little nothing serious enought to loose all that oil in a week you can only see a lil blue smoke when i first start it

If 7 and 8 were soaked in oil, after an oil change and tune up sounds like it's time for a rebuild. But before you lose your mind, do a leak down test on it also a compression test. And that should give you some answers, Mike. SCT Tuner.

i would always let it sit awhile before checking. Due to the cams on top, it needs to pump alot of oil up there. you probably checked it before it could drain back down.
yeah, 7 and 8 might have worn valve guides it sounds like. But i would change out the plugs and check them after driving a week.
