Default Headers what kind and what brand?

I will be buying a pair of headers for my 98 cobra very soon and would like opinions. I was looking at the Hooker Super Competition, Ceramic Coated headers. I see i can get the same headers just "painted" for about 150 cheaper. Is there a crucial difference is just painted and ceramic coated? Also i would be interested in BBK but some where i read you can not drop the bellhousing on the tranny with out removing the passenger side header. For future projects and clutchs to burn out i would lilke the option of droping the bell housing with the L/Ts installed which the hookers allow. Any input would be greatly appreciated thanks guys.

One more note how does anyone feel about buying used headers? Thanks.

As long as they are not beat up or rusted, they will be fine. Get the ceramic coated though, the painted ones suck due to the paint will burn off in a matter of minutes after you start your car.

the used headers are beat up and have scratches. one minor weld to repair hole. says they run fine and do not leak. does any one know about the bell housing clearance with bbk L/T's or did i fabricate that story in my dreams

hookers = rust, looks like crapvery soon after installation. BBK have to be pulled to drop the tranny. Ceramic coated are cool but you have to get them recoated every four years or so depending on rate on car use. Stainless is the way to go imo.
