Angry 2003 Mustang Cobra possible clutch problem

My Cobra supercharger does not engage due to what I've been told is a clutch issue. RPMs go up but power does not seem to be getting to the wheels and no boost. Driving normal there is no problem shifting gears and the clutch seems to engage. If I punch it a little I get a boost in RPMs, no boost and no speed pick up. Ford dealer said clutch assembly needs to be replaced. I can drive but miss the kick of the supercharger. Has anyone experienced this and did you replace the clutch assembly to fix the problem? Thanks.

Are you sure it's the clutch or the belt slipping? when i changed out my pulleys they sent the wrong belt and it would barely hit 5psi, got a shorter belt and now it's at full boost.

Can't say for sure about the belt, but will check when I get home tonight. Thanks

If you see black dust on your SC pulley or on other places around that area, it's from the belt slipping.
If not, then it could be your clutch that's slipping. does your car start to go in 1st when the clutch is almost all the way out or like it doesn't want to go when you let the clutch out?

Thanks for the input, I didn't see anything that would indicate the belt is loose. I drove the car all weekend and except for the SC failing to engage it performs well. Goes into first gear easy but you can notice it is slow to put power to the wheels. In 1st you get a jump in rpm when I hit the gas but it doesn't translate to the wheels and the SC doesn't kick in. With easy starts the clutch seems to engage easily in first and then no problem shifting the gears up to 6th. May just have to suck it up and go for the new clutch.

things dont add up here?

are you being super super lite on the gas? a bad clutch is a bad clutch..blower or not,,,,

what about if you pull and plug the vaccum hose for the blower and try driving hard with out boost

it should slip if the clutch is bad
