Default Lincoln Mark VIII into V6 Body

Hello everyone,

I'm new to these postings for I have just now acquired a 97 Lincoln Mark VIII 4.6L DOHC. I am currently driving a 98 V6 Mustang Convertible. I have decided on the brakes, suspension, and wheels. From what I understand is that this is essentially the same motor as far as the block and heads; all that needs is cams, pistons, valves, springs, and crank if I'm not mistaken.

If anyone has any suggestions on which to use would be greatly appreciated. I'm also documenting this entire process documentary style and would give credit where it's due.

Thanks,

Jimmy

If your going to tear it open, then go forged. I would also look into a wiring harness, computer, tranny, driveshaft and rear end when you do this swap.

What advice do you have as far as heads? I can I change the crank to the 6 bolt Cobra to match a T45 Tranny?

the cobras have a 8 bolt forged steel crank. and i believe i have read you will need a whole diff ecu and wiring for this project you want to do. + 1 2oo5GT go forged if you do it!

Personally I feel you should just sell it all and go buy a cobra...look at this
If I didn't already have two stangs, I'd buy this in a heartbeat, owner wants $11K for it...well well worth the asking price
