does 2004 Mustang cobra need retune for smaller pulley
looking at buying an 2004 cobra with smaller supercharger pulley but owner says engine computer hasnt had a new tune for smaller pulley does it need one? thanks
I would be wary of that statement...it could be a red flag that the car has a major problem...it's amazing what people selling used cars will assert...just want to give you a cool headed opinion

The DiabloSport Predator handheld tuner P/N: D/SU7142 has the ability to tune for up to 14lbs of boost for Terminators with a smaller pulley.

I would never trust a 350 dollar handheld tune on a $7000 engine. Custom tune from a reputable tuner is the only way to go.
OP, Before purchase I would get a leakdown test preformed to see if the previous owner hurt the motor pulleying it with no tune. Also check to see if there is anything else out of place.
needless to say im not gonna get that car. dealer wasnt willing to work with me. i asked him to atleast get it dyno checked to see if the ecm was atleast tuned for the smaller pulley............anyways im still looking for 03-04 cobra.....next question is about the infamous engine tick on the cobra. is there a safe mileage for the cobra to have to say if the tick was gonna occur it would have done so by such and such miles. say for instance if no tick after 20,000 miles then safe to say it wont happen.......what was the precentage that 03-04 cobras had this issue. 2 out of 10 for example.......
