yea after alot of research and careful consideration i went with the o/r H pipe and just got it in today. i will most likely be putting it in tomorrow or by the weekend. i will let you know what i think about it. i went the cheaper way but i did like the sound i was hearing of it so i went with the MAC.

im just scared of the drone i may get in the cabin. i already have flowmaster mufflers and i heard when you mix the flows with an o/r h it can get pretty obnoxious but i dont daily drive it so i think it will be just what im looking for.

Ok i just finished install at the house and i must say that o/r H pipe w/ flowmasters is the nicest sounding exhaust. Its real mean. i just have one problem here. i installed and then fired it up but have smoke coming from the engine alittle after revs so its either i have a small air leak in the pipes or im hoping its just the liquid wrench iwas sprayed on the bolts to loosen and now its just getting burned off. either way i will know soon but its for sure the nicest sounding exhaust ive ever had on any of my mustangs.

Yeah it sounds like the smoke is coming from your spray, that'll burn off, Glad you like the H since I recommended it, you'll wanna retorque the bolts after about a week so you know there fully tightened! Also the H is SO MUCH lighter than the stock midpipe, that thing is a fricken anchor, haha!

yea bro i love the sound. its gunna take some getting used to because ive never had one so loud. when i go to get my tune i will ask them to take a look to insure no leaks. and the smoke stopped so it was the liquid wrench.

quick question... is it normal to have some smoke coming out the tail pipes when you go catless?

Yeah the first 2 couple weeks when I had the H with the Mac Catback it seemed So damm loud to me BUT that went away quickly, now it seems quiet cause it's been on for a few years.
And if the smoke is just white and puffy it's more than likely condensation, go out and hammer through the gears to blow everything out. Also the new Hpipe could have material
inside the aluminum tubing just burning off so I wouldn't worry about it.You'll be able to smell it when the pipe heats for the first few days.
Also is your CEI Lite on? And who's gonna be doing your tuning?

CEL hasnt gone on yet and yea i have been pushing it hard through the gears around the neighbor hood today. i fugured thats probably all it was. and when it does come on i may get the tune from rob. but i found a guy with new sets of mils for 25 dollars so i may take that route first because itll save me 200 dollars on a tune. if the mils dont work then i guess im out 25 but worth a try.

Yeah get those Mils for $25, they get a bad wrap, only a handful don't work, there is literally TONS of guys with Mils that perform perfectly!

man to tell you the truth the flowmasters are killing me with the drone and i dont feel like having to get different mufflers welded on so i think i might just get rid of the midpipe lol so if you know anyone that wants brand new MAC's then let me know.

i have a magnaflow o/r x pipe with stock mufflers. I know it sounds like crap with the stock mufflers but once I get the flows on it is going to sound really good.

Default What happens with NO cats at all?

I know it's not legal, but if a person were to take the cats out completely and replace them with straight pipes would there be any performance increase? I already have the O2 sensor eliminators in place, one of my cats it shot and instead of replacing it I just put the O2 eliminators in place that "trick" the computer into thinking everything is ok. But, I do know I will need to do something with them soon. My current exhaust is the stock X pipe followed by Magnaflow from the cats back.

Mike I think the long tube headers give it more of performance sound than anything...from there it's mainly a matter of how loud you want it, 2 chamber louder than 3, catted lower than non catted..check youtube, there are alot of stang clips...I have BBK long tubes, matching hi flow catted H, 40 flows and stock from mufflers back..I love it..not so obnoxious that a 40 mile cruise will wear you or your girlfriend out but when you hit it, everyone knows there's a performance car coming, or going.
