Default Correct NGK plug?

I was going to change plugs in my 2001 Cobra.Took an old one out, which is a Motorcraft AWSF32E.
I purchased some new NGK TR55GP's.
There is a lot more threads on the NGK than the Motorcrafts. About twice as many. Won't that plug go into the head farther? Too far? The shoulders are the same distance to the tip.
I would imagine someone has ran accross this same thing before, but I couldn't find the info on here.
Any help would be appreciated.

the threads on the head will only let the plug go down a certain distance, your fine, TR-55's are more readlily available than what I use TR-5's! I gap mine to .045!

Thanks for the help. It needed new plugs for sure. Runs much smoother.
