i would recomend royal purple. it might be a little expensive at first but you only have to change the oil every 12000 miles and the filter every 3000mi. they free up a hp too!! thats my 2 cents

The 96-04 Cobras use the same oil pan and yes it's 7 quarts, NOT 6. The Best oils..
1. Amsoil
2. Valvoline SynPower Full Synthetic (I use)
3. Mobil 1 and German Castrol

I hope you bought the 5W30 weight? BEST place for oil is Walmart with the 5 quart jugs!

Mobil 1 is def. some good stuff. But I've always used Castrol Syntec an a quart of Lucas Synth. Stabilizer.

An 7 qts.... Yikes ! Talk about parasitic drag on the crank peoples. Think that's a bit overkill. Owners manual, and factory fill is 5, but I guess everybody has their own theory

It's not a THEORY it's FACT!! I've discussed this in Numerous threads, no need to rehash it, and WRONG factory fill level in the owners manual for Cobras is 6!
And FYI Lucas stabilizer is too thick for the oil passages on a 4V Modular Motor!
