Default 1996 cobra running hot!!

My 96 cobra has been running hot!!! Today it went all the way up to the "L" in normal!!! Idk what i need to change to make it run around the 50% range. A new thermostat??? radiator???? Please let me know what you guys think it is!! Thanks

dude i have noticed that these 96 cobras do run really hot after driving for just a little while. i am going to be changing my thermos in a week or so.

If you guys want a link to my friend Joels site he has the BEST thermostats HANDS DOWN for Cobras, there a little pricey(In the $50 range cause he uses two Stant 180's to make one custom 170. It opens faster than ANY others and keeps the coolant under the 190 range even in the Deep south with AC on which is pretty amazing!

i say start with the thermostat and then work from there. just troubleshoot.

i was leaning towards a 160 but thought that may be a bit much so the 170 would be perfect.

There isn't a 160 properly made for the Cobra Thermo housing, yes companies like Hypertech etc.. sell them but I'd advise against using them, the same goes for drilling holes in stocks Stats!

My 95 cobra has been running hot also. At what temperature should I be conserned about? It was up to 225 today.

yeah and today its 92 degrees out and my car acually went all the way to overheating!!! But i still nvr put the thermostat in so im doing that later and ill tell everyone what happens!
