I've recently replaced the engine in my 98 cobra now it wont stay running. I'm stumped and need some help. I've checked all the routine things no codes present fuel pressure is good have good spark. It will start and die right out if you just turn the key and if you give it gas it will rev up but you can not keep it at a certain rpm and when you come out of the gas it dies. I really need to get it running thanks for any help

This is a shot in the dark but it almost seems like fuel starvation, i would say give a little more detail about what the cars doing, did you change other parts other than the engine itself ?

I'm not up on the 98 cobra's but i know if your cam position sensor is bad or not hooked up it will fire then die immediately.

Def make sure all connectors are connected and same for the vaccum lines. Do you have the stock computer or did you get one from a Cobra donor?

The cam and crank sensors are new I double checked my connections, there all good and i'm using the same pcm because i just replaced the long block and transfered all the manifolds sensors timing cover etc.

Let me know how it worked out. I'm in the same situation w/ my '97 Cobra, But I think I'm getting too much fuel. Running real rich, sloppy idle, and dies out after a few seconds, w/ the theft light flashing rapidly. We checked a connectors/ sensors. We feel that it might be a blown PCM. But I don't want to spend the money on it to find out that's not the case. Good Luck!
