Last night I did plugs in my 98 SVT and took it for a ride. It felt fine last night and this morning but I have felt like something isn't right. It felt a bit sluggish. Like something needs to be fixed or replaced since I bought it two weeks ago. Today I was driving and my roommate pulled up behind me in his WRX. I dropped it into second and floored it and to my dismay I felt a bogging sensation followed by NO power. It runs fine but still no juice. I just started it up and it doesn't seem to be misfiring but the motor seems to be "horse Galloping" if you know what I mean. What else do you need to know to help me? It is beautiful outside and I want to go cruising!

sounds like a fuel problem...pump, mass air or throttle body..did you replace the wires? They usually need to go with new plugs since they can wear out too...did the car have any issues prior to the plugs? How did they look when you took them out..maybe one is loose, broken or something...you get power at any RPM?

Check your MAF first, you can clean it with a spray from an auto parts store, or just take the sensor out and clean it with rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip like I do (be very gentle though). I clean the MAF's on both of my stangs just about every oil change, or if you clean your air filter with that oil. . . That can gum it up as well. Since you just bought it they probably recharged the air filter, so this is more than likely. In fact, that is the EXACT problem I had in my 95' GT, and cleaning the MAF was the fix.
I have about the same thing going on with my 98 cobra.....i bought it 2 weeks ago......completely stock from a 52 year old man. I feel it sort of sluggy too.... I changed the spark plugs to ngk iridium...but it still does it......i have no idea what it might be......no check engine light on ...nor problems at idle.?????
Make sure you have premium octane fuel in the gas tank 91+ (you said no check engine light so could be something else). Also, you may need to replace the fuel filter. If your car has been garaged for a while, then the filter could be blocked by built up sediments. It is very easy to replace a fuel filter. Also, check the air filter - make sure it is clean. Then check the MAF and clean it. The problem is most likely caused by a blocked fuel filter or a dirty MAF. Hope this helps!
Oh yeah, I forgot to add that your spark plug wires could cause poor performance when driving. At idle the car may seem fine, but when driving you might feel lag or misfiring.
