I'm looking at buying a 1999 Cobra for a great price. I know about a green or a blue dot on the manifold behind the alt. as far as the power fix recall goes. Anyone know of any other decals/ markings to look out for. Also anyone have experience withh '99 Cobras, did the recall fix power across the board or was it hit and miss. Thanks in advance.
If you can get one for a great price, I'd not worry about the HP, it was only about 15 over the 98, if it's in great shape and you like it, I'd go for it, there are so many power adders on the market now, you can make it whatever you want

If the computer was reflashed you'll have a sticker on the right top corner of the hood, and if the intake was modified you'll have a paint mark on the middle of the alternator not on the manifold! Also if you purchase the car you can call SVT with the Vin# and they'll tell you if the recalls were performed!
+1 on Brutal Metal. Call a Ford dealer and have them tell you. I can't imagine many haven't had the fix. Ford suspended Cobra production for the 2000 model year to fix the 99s.

I'm glad I had a Tenacious previous owner cause my 99 has this upgrade and it's smooth as butter at 80mph!!

Hey I got my cobra! 2001 mineral gray cobra coupe. Hell ya! I love it! Came with deep dish bullit wheels ta boot! I'll post some pics. Now I get to hang out in SVT Cobra tech woot! Guess I need to change my forum name as well.
