Default 03 cobra broke down

I was sitting in the burger king drive through ,A/C on ,all of a sudden I hear and feel a bang! The air starts blown warm, I figure the compressor blew out. I get my food start heading home ,the car is bucking wildly on acceleration, and starts overheating. I look under the hood, the belt is fine, so I dont know what is happening.
I just made it home before it got too hot.
I hear some kind of noise but not sure what it is. I have to wait til monday to get it towed to my favorite mustang place. If anyone can think of what it maybe I would be grateful!

Strange symptoms, I don't know what that would be?

Think maybe your compressor froze or even your water pump?

Yeah, it sounds like one of the pulleys or something on the front has an issue...I gotta tell you that story has a very bad sound to it...let us know the outcome

Sounds just like what happend to me a couple years back. Idler pulley bearing was getting noisey but I just ignored it. At a light heard a loud whack, the idler pulley bearing gave out and casued the a/c to blow warm, no p/s, volt's dropped, temp raised etc.
Hope it's just an accessory issue on your part as well...

I think you guys maybe 100% right ,that it maybe a pullie. I wont know until tomorrow but I trust from the comments here that it may very well be that.
I just dont have the means of repairing that ,or a way of raising the car since it may be one of the lower ones. Thanks again for the helpful replys

I'm always amazed when someone with apparently so little knowledge of cars owns a car like a Terminator. Just saying.

Okay I got the diagnosis on the problem here.
The engine fan is toast, the bang I heard was the 50amp fuse that blew out.
When the fan goes so does everything else , A/C , overheating, no acceleration. Just in case you guys have this problem you just look not only at your belt, but check engine fan fuse!

That is why we have this forum here. Not to talk down on people who look for help here.

hmm, well i do know a mechanic that drives a kia and around town here there is a old lady that drives a Z06. What does that tell ya?
I don't think you have to be an ace mechanic to drive a performance car. For me, i wanted to learn all that i could about cars in general when i was a kid and glad that I did.

It's time to upgrade your entire cooling system now. Might as well since your tearing it apart anyways right?

On a side note, not everyone is a gear head here, some of our members just like the cars. Let's respect that
