Default 2003-2004 Cobra Mustang Reliability?

Hey i have a 2004 acura TL 6-speed which im about to trade for a 2004 cobra mustang stock. Im not sure to make the trade because i don't know enough about cobras. I hear rumors about things like the engine block blowing up and the car overheating? are these things true? if they are then im not sure i want to buy the car. Can this car handle me driving it hard? Please give your opinion guys, thanks.

I wouldn't hesitate with an 04, go for it never had problems with mine. The 03's had a drivers side head problem, which was revised in 04 so I would go for it. And as far as engines blowing, any car including the one your driving now would have that problem if you beat on it enough, Mike. SCT Tuner.

I know a couple guys with over 270,000 miles on their 03-04's!
And cooling can be an issue with the Terminator and New Edge Cobras BUT if you run the right thermostat andcorrect fluid mixture you'll be in good shape. If you wanna ease your mind even more a HeadCooling Mod from a number of different companies is available, some guys say their not effective while others regard them as an insurance policy! Give us more details on the Cobra? Color,Miles etc..

Every car needs work. You could buy any car and we could not promise that it would not overheat.

Headcooling mod as Brutal mentioned. I'll throw in one other cooling piece of advice! The stock intercooler is craptastic, do yourself a favor and get rid of that POS asap. Otherwise, no problems with mine so far! other than blowing out the fuel rail pressure sensor ($80.00 from ford with the 30% off i get)
