not sure if its the same on your car but usually theres a C clip at the end of the axle inside the pumkin... take diff cover of and unclip to slide axle out

but i know some cobras had irs and im not a cobra person so i dunno if urs has it, or if thats how it work, but on a normal axle thats how they are done

Why don't you replace the rim first, or put a non bent one on and see if it still wobbles, thus potentially saving you from this axle job. The calipers/rotors are cheap, just replace the whole shebang

so i took the wheel off and the calipers are pushing the brakes into the discs even though the hand brake is down, does this mean that the calipers have froze up?

I agree with 2ManyStangs you should of just bought new rotors and calipers and changed the rim to see if it still wobbles instead of taking both axles out for maybe no reason

Same thing happend to me. Trying to show off as an amateur D1 Drifter, and ended up slamming the right rear up against a curb. If you let the diff/ring gear seperate from the pinion shaft, youre going to have to re-install everything "the right way" to avoid whining or eating up the gears.

If it's shimmed, make sure to put the proper ones back on the side they came from, and buy or rent youreself a dial indicator to get youre backlash right.

When I hit the curb I ended up bending the UCA & LCA on the right side. When you get everything back together check to see if 1 rear wheel tucks under the fender a little more than the other side, if it does, I'll bet the farm you got yourself a bent control arm.

Have fun an good luck w/ the project. Rear ends are always fun to work on on youre back
