I've done a few things to my 99 SVT, replace stock intake with a CAI, replaced mid-pipe with an "off-Road", and from cats back or now mid-pipe back with a magnaflow low restriction exhaust. The car has 78k on it and I've already replace the spark-plugs with some NGK's. Now I need to get the car a proper tune-up. Can someone tell me what needs to be done in this "tune-up"? What type of shop do I need to take it to? I have noticed since the CAI install the idel jumps up every 15sec to about 1000 then drops back to 750, kind-of strange and very consistant, you could set your watch by it. I figure that's the MAF sinsor or something along that lines.
Tune up as in sparkplugs or a Tune with a Diable or Xcal? If you want a Tune, i would see what are your local shops that can tune a mustang and see what they use, either Diablo or Xcal. Then you can purchase one from a online site or usually they sell them where they tune them.
With a new CAI, the filter oil could have gotten on the MAF element. You can use maf cleaner or use a q-tip and very gently clean it. If not, try cleaning your IAC out too.

I'd replace the wires too, make sure you get them on Ebay or the dealership will bend you over on the price...

Yes, I had the battery unhooked while I was installing the CAI. I was thinking I then took it for a drive, then came home and unhooked it again but can't remember. I may try another hard reset, and unhook it again.
I know some of those CAIs require the computer be tuned after install...hey Brutal, just picked up some Mach 1 "C" heads for my 96, now need Terminator intercooler w/ intake base and then that should get my KB Cobra rockin! Still need the forged lower eventually...

You should be fine getting an email tune. A dyno tune will also work. The idle issue is tune related for sure.
