Default 1999 Mustang cobra engine swaps

Howdy! Here is what I've got. 2 complete long blocks. 1 block has a spun crank bearing so the bottom end is no bueno. The other block had the timing chain break and a bearing or two in the heads are fused. So I have 1 good bottom end and one good top end.

2 questions:

1: If time isn't an issue to complete will pulling it out through the topside be an simpler ordeal?
2: I'm the one with the funds and my friend is the tech.. he's currently indisposed, one reason or another, and I want to know which sets of gaskets i'm going to need when we get our rebuild on.
Timing Cover
Head Gaskets
Intake Gasket
Intake to cylinder
Oil Pan

that it? Like i said, I'm pulling one block, swapping the heads onto another and putting it back in. Simple enough right?

After this is done i'll also be looking to get rid of the damaged goods if there are any takers.

I dont think you will even need to pull the motor to do the head swap. At least you dont have to on the 5.0s, but of course you do have the OHC, someone back me up on this?

pulling the motor is way easy on theis mustangs its a 8 hour job 18 if its ur first time and u really take ur time but once ur done and u look back on it, it is super easy so id sugest takein it out. i think u can pull heads with the motor in but the master brake cylinder gets in the way and god thier is no room. and felpro all the way i just did mine and used all felpro and spent about 350 in gaskets alone.

Thanks y'all! And yes i do have to pull the block because the bad bottom end is in the car. While I've already stripped it down..now its a matter of getting one out and putting one in. My helper is a pro so things should go smoothly.

I did a little number crunch and got the same figure you quoted for the gaskets i need..right around 300$

Thanks again!

ProPower in South Florida will have an array of gasket kits for the DOHC 4V! You need to add one more gasket to your list.. the oil cooler to engine block one, I reused my stocker when I did the Forged rebuild and it leaked on me, major PITA!

will do! I'll check out the place you mentioned, considering my proximity to them it should smooth over the acquisition.
