Yes it will work. At least mine worked with my Steeda Tri-Ax short shifter.

i have a steeda style shifter right now, ya ikno that works, but from pics and the way the Pro 5.0 shifter is, it looks much smaller, idk if it is, but anyone have a pro 5.0 on a stock boot?

I've used tri-ax's on my past mustangs with the stock boot and my 03 Cobra has a pro 5.0 with stock boot. You couldn't tell on anyone of them if it had the stock shifter or not just by looking at it. You would have to shift it or take the boot off to look at it.
