Default rim/tire size on 03 cobra

I have seen posts about putting 315s on the stock 03 cobra rims but am curious if 315s on 17 x 10.5 rims fit w/o mods on the rear-end of the 03 Cobra. Thanks for the help as I need to buy something soon my rear tires are Nittos that now look like drag slicks lol.

I think they fit with no problems. I have seen them on lot's of cars. I would get the 10.5"s though, don't risk it putting a 315 on a 9" wheel.

Does anyone know where you can find some decent cobra lug pattern rims with the correct offset....or even a set of 03 cobra rims in 10.5.
I would really rather not buy 4 new rims just to run wider rears.

Tires.com carries Replica as well. They have the 03 Cobra and Cobra R in both 17X9 and 17X10.5. The only tires that fit as a combo (275/40-17 and 315/35-17) are quite pricey. It's actually cheaper to get the rims from Tires.com, then order a set of Sumitomo HTR Z 275 & 315 from TireRack. Even with shipping and mounting. I'd like to do just this at some point.

Break the 275s loose too easily, would definitely benefit from 315.

Default Why not 335s?

I put 335/30-18 on the rear ofmy Cobra. Got the rims on Ebay from AFSWheels. Had to grind the IRS bolt down halfway and put 1/2 inch spacer and there is plenty of room.

Might as well wrap two 55 gallon drums with rubber and call it a day! Awesome. The fatter the better! I'm not prepared to grind down anything, so I'll shoot for the 315, but I definitely give you kudos.

you gotta grind the IRS bolt with 315s as well......1/2 spacer i hope you installed longer studs, i wouldnt want to be driving that car when the wheel goes flying off into the median

How ARE spacers at holding up to a beating. Whenever someone brings them up there's usually a large contingent that is extremely wary of them. If they are iron or high quality steel, aren't they going to be safe? Pardon my ignorance on this one. I guess I don't forsee myself getting the 315s any time soon, but I do think the rear wheels would look a lot better being flush with the fender flares in the rear - the front tires slightly protrude making them look nice and meaty.

In my opinion spacers are safe when used correctly. If you just throw on a set on top of stock studs your probably going to have a problem. Although small amounts may be ok (1/4, 5/16). I have 5/16s spacers on my car and the lugs still grab up a good 5- 6 threads... the standard minimum is 3. Also for those more wary then others, go with the hub centric spacers, they center on the hub and decrease vibrations.
