2003 Mustang Cobra OEM Hood Insulation Liner

Hello,
Does anyone have any information on the OEM Hood Insulation Liner?
Ford Mustang OEM Hood Insulation Liner (03-04 Cobra) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

Does this product wear over time and fall apart in the engine bay? What happens if it gets wet?
Does is get in the way of a Strut Tower Brace?
What exactly is the point of the Hood Insulation? (other than fire protection)

I am contemplating upgrading my hood with this product from American Muscle as my hood does not have any insulation liner.
Any information would be Super, thank you.

Mine got wet and stained early on. I took it out and have never missed it. Some guys find there hoods weren't painted underneath when they remove the hood blanket. Mine was painted underneath.

Cruising the misinformation superhighway in a Terminator.
